read in MCN last week, triumph bringin out a 1700cc parallel twin.I think this could be a bit of a masterstroke for mr bloore if he plays his cards right.not to much info yet, well not in mag anyway, but will be water cooled, massive torque, but cranks offset 270 digrees, seemingly to give harlyesque firen order an sound.word is it will prob be belt drive, although i thaught they would be missing the boat if it wassent shaft.on second thoughts belt prob better for price an weight.it would be great crueser, tourer, poss sports tourer.depends how heavy, weight distribution, suspension etc.oh yes an price.any triumph addicts out there got any opinions,
cheers bt... _________________

I liked my last Triumph (Black Sprint 900) It was fun!
May even be swayed from my American Pig Iron
Any pictures anywhere? |
I wish(pics that is)yes i think they are tryin to poach that market.I think the water coolling could out stomp harly, with performance, yet to see what weight distribution suspension, luguage etc.anyway im watchen that space.I ride a 900 black sprint now, love the bike, looks good for a 10 yearold bike.handles like my old fazer, torque like my old beemer.any pics of your sprint.had a mate who had a fazer like mine but new shape 4 years old, looked a tad rougher than my trumpet whitch was twice the age but roughly same milage.cheers anyway bt... _________________

There must have been a few folk looking after it since I had it. I sold it in 2002 in an atempt to get off bikes, for my ex wife.
I acted like a bear with a sore head (allegedly) for a few months before buying my next bike. A wee Bandit 600. Still miss the fun that Triumph gave though. Although I don't miss looking after the chain, that was a labour of love if you didn't want a new chain every six months. I tried a Scot Oiler but wasn't that impressed.
Catch you about. Let me know if you find any pictures of this new Triumph.
dave did you see the big triumph in MCN this week past.seems its goin to be 1800,or1900cc.I think this may be a lovely lump,o, british pig iron.
bit more asthetic than the rocket 3.thing is I am not going to be allowed
in the forseeaeble future to have two bikes, and I am still hard pushed
to let the old sprint go.
right thats me,catch you later fuzzy, cheers bt...
