Hi Folks,

I'm looking for some opinions on the different types of road surfaces you ride over. I appreciate you may not be able to give the technical name of the surfacing but a description of what it looks like, how your bike handles on it and even the location would be a great help.

Thanks

Eric

I dont like gravel they reserve usually for the best biking roads, when it is first laid it's like marbles and then a couple of weeks down the line is either in the verges or in the centre of the road lying in wait for us to take a bend too wide Pissed off

Maybe that's why the do it, to slow us down?

I have forwarded your question to the Dundee bikers forum, they are never short of opinions. Angel

Would that be the surface dressing? Chips laid on a bitumen tack coat?

Nightmare when its first laid but excellent grip after the loose stuff has been swept up.

Eric.

Sounds like it, I had an accident a couple of years ago came round a bend to find 1 foot of the stuff in the middle of the road both me and bike in front went down.

It was Bridge of Balgie in Perthshire.
