Watched 'The Ground Truth' last night .... if ever there's a nation that deserves to be put on trial for war crimes ... Uncle Sam has to be it! |
I disagree Net, got to take your hat of to these guys at times, sure they hit the tarmac a few times but look at the results,
and what a country, I would live there in a minute, stunning scenery and good folk
very patriotic also, you would never see us stand up for our country over here as much as they do, seems we only put our country down and open our gates for all to come and help themselves |

Don't get me wrong F4I, I agree with you regarding the courage of these guys on the bikes. Its awesome what they can do but I was just wondering, from a purely practical viewpoint, how often they hit the tarmac in practice.
It's like these kids on mountain bikes doing reverse summersaults etc. - it seems to defy gravity.
As for the yanks...well that's another story. There are, despite what they seem to think, rules of engagements in theatre's of war, much of the PTSD they seem to be sufferring from is directly due to their operational conduct in Iraq. While I sympathise with any troops in an operational theatre that surely doesn't condone the incidents related (by themselves) in 'The Ground Truth'.
The precedence at Nuremburg was set that a soldier could not rely on the defence that they were merely following orders when perpetrating a war crime.
What these marines and soldiers described in that excellent documentary are clearly war crimes perpetrated against, innocent, unarmed civvilians and its truly appalling.
Who though, if anyone, will ever hold the US responsible for their actions? _________________ 'Never put your bike anywhere that your brain hasn't been 5 seconds before!' (
