My opinion for what it's worth....
Bikers don't have a bad reputation, they just have a high mortality rate.
Bikers unlike other motorised road users tend to die alone on the road, the others tend to take people with them (Kirkcaldy- Auchtertool Road 3, Standing Stane Road 3, A92 Ladybank 4, Methven 5 etc etc and these are all single crashes!).
So when a biker posts something on Youtube that we (the ones who exercise sense and restraint when sharing road space with innocent people) find to be 'amazing' but not quite impressive we can atleast be assured that in the majority of cases if it goes horribly wrong, its the guilty party who pays.
I see no problem in watching these clips, as long as we put them into the perspective that to ride or drive dangerously or carelessly is an offence. The offence is there not to line some government departments pockets, but to act as a deterrent which will hopefully make individuals more aware of their responsibility when they take it upon them to act in a selfish and dare I say anti-social manner on the public road.
Anyway, that's the salt starting to be spread on the road so I suspect for many that'll be the end of this season, for those of you who stay out mind how you go.
