Can anyone on the forum suggest examples of the best and most picturesque, scenic roads in Perthshire perhaps even posting maps of routes etc.

Now I'm not talking about technical roads where wanna be Valentino Rossie's want to pretend to themselves over a sereis of twisties etc. - leave that stuff to the tracks, please. Rolling Eyes

I'm talking about roads where one can relax and really enjoy the scenery.

Of course some of the obvious routes through Glenshee and back down Cairn O Mount, the A9 branching off at Dalwhinnie or along the Loch Laggan Road to Fort William or anywhere around Loch Earnhead spring to mind but I just wondered if anyone on the forum had any particular favourites (perhaps even with some pics) to share?

the road to braemar is good,as are some of the back roads in fife.like yourself im no speed demon and just love to cruise.a good local run i like is head south to glenfarg, west at gateside then north through glen devon.though i think the most joy is from finding a route rather than being given sugestions,so get your map out and jump on your bike and ride!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, I'll check that route out for sure. You're right of course, discovering new routes is exciting although I've discovered some real gems thanks to the advice of others also. Some of these keep drawing me back time and time again.

I guess it's a little about doing a route with a guide. They historical, geographical and general knowledge they possess is often well worth the expense and opens up a lot of stuff never previously considered. In fact, it's knowledge about these real gems that set guides apart I suppose.
Very Happy

B827 Braco to Comrie is a nice road, one of my fave runs if I don't want to go too far.

Thanks, The Moulin is a great pub, one of my favourites. Is this the road that takes you past Edradour Distillery?

I am told there is a great road that leads to Glen Lyon from Kilin, a disused Hydro Electric road that is not on the map.
