Pissed off

no son thats a tractor, not only is it a tractor, its a JOHN DEER in green tractor, and if your flying round a corner around Newburgh just beware and make sure your brakes are in good working condition, because if you hit my John Deer you wont walk away from it, unless of course you have an R1,

R1's have a sence for danger and magically self steer if the rider is in total shock and fear after coming out a corner at 80 and finding a tractor going one way and a bus coming in opposite direction.

If it was up to me, the only things allowed on the road would be R1's and of course John Deers (if in green). Laughing

I'm a city boy really - from Perth. When I first came to work in rural Angus it wasn't long until I became 'tractor aware': Shocked

Green - JD
Red - Massey Ferguson
Blue - Ford

When talking to the locals it wasn't enough that I'd seen a 'tractor' they demanded more detail than that! I learnt to describe them by make. "I came around the corner and there was a Massey Ferguson on the road!"

Ahhh...rural life. Sleep

ooooops got my wires mixed up, when you said is that your bike I thought you were meaning my tractor?

no someone put the pic under my name?? not sure how, still finding my way about this place, it takes ages reading some of the postings

sorry about that, im a little touchy about my tractor as i get slagged a lot, but its my livelyhood and pays my way, enables me to buy the r1 and things.

not sure how that bike pic got there? mine is blue, I think that rache guy put it up for me earlier or the other guy that was talking about avators

anyway sorry for going on, i better go soon, going back out to finish off a few fields, find this is the best time to plough them, put on a cd, some blaring music, flask of coffee and plough away, its amazing what you see at nights too, foxes, deer, even bats flying in the spot lights.

Sorry I forgot someone asked if John deer was american and yes he is right as far as I am aware John deer was originally a blacksmith in Illinois, John Deer is recognized as a leader in farm equipment and i think they go back almost 150 years.

They are good tractors, excellent with the plough and good for pulling boggies too, as i say mine is fitted with cd player, heated cab and seat

She'll love you for that! Shocked Rach is a lovely young lady judging by her pics anyhow and it wasn't me that put that pic up. I'm was looking for an avatar for another reason.

That's another thing I learnt here in the sticks! All about ploughing competitions - non mechanised ones. Funny the difference a few inches make! Laughing

Saw a redneck in the US gulf last year with the usual dungerees, baseball cap (John Deer, of course) and a teeshirt with the slogan:

"John Deer - Been there, Cut that"

Wish I'd taken a pic Confused

Al Very Happy

(I wondered about the R-1 avatar too, you need a blue one or a pic of yer tractor)
