Experienced my first road kill today Shocked

Riding home on the road from Muthill to Auchterarder spotted a pheasant on the left hand side and dutifully pointed it out to my fella who was riding behind me and eased off the throttle, pesky thing jumped straight in front of me, car coming in opposite direction and I thought no I am not going to hit the deck again so ran straight over the bugger, wee wiggle of the handle bars and a few feathers later (I opened my eyes) and yes I am still on the bike and in control Beg

Fella insisted I pull over and check I was ok, which I was but was too scared to look at the front of the bike in case it was still there It wasn't and no damage to bike except a bit of blood and feathers

Need a lie down now too much excitement for one day
Shocked

Hi Rach glad to hear both you and the bike escaped unscathed, a raised heart rate, a few feathers and blood are a small price to pay for the experience. Definately best option to hit the buggers rather than risk hitting somthing bigger like traffic or scenery.
I hit a seagull a few years ago while in third lane of motorway with spectacular results, blood everywhere with feathers stuck to it including visor. Big chunk out of fairing and intestines like streamers on the end of handlebars. Gaah Smell of cooking from radiator for weeks.

Are you sure you got all bits of engine before they start to cook. Smile
