Following Maddog's post showing this link thought it would be fun to share our bike related embarrassing moments, I have one or two but will only share if others do first.

There's so many...where do I start. Rolling Eyes

Probably pulling into Olympia in Dundee to go swimming flicking the side stand down (or so I thought) and leaning the bike over. How I held it I've no idea but I was left tottering for a good 50 secs much to the amusement of a guy in a car who was watching the whole thing. Embarassed

Kelso Bikefest, 3 or 4yrs ago decided to go for a run to Berwick, stopped at traffic lights and bikers milling around everywhere sat outside drinking etc, got a bit nervous and most definitely blonder and then suddenly my bike would not go into first gear, rest of the group rode off not realising my problem, so I pulled in and wrestled with the bike for a few minutes when a group of hairy bikers came over.

"Whats the problem little lady?" told them about my gears not working and to huge guffaws they told me to try the using my left foot and not my right Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed for some reason I had forgotten my gears were on the left and I had been trying to put my back brake into first gear.

Rode off very shame faced Embarassed and have never lived it down Rolling Eyes

Many moons ago at age 17, first big road trip was down to Halifax to visit relations there. Looking for something to do on the Friday night my uncle suggested going to the local speedway track. Never having been to a speedway meeting before it fitted the bill. On arrival grabbed a burger and a coke and a good spot right at barrier on first corner. Hung helmet on fence and got stuck into burger just as first race was starting. The bikes charged down straight and heeled into bend. Result, me stood in a cloud of dust and cinders, with burger and coke well covered, helmet half filled and everybody in the vicinity p*ss*ng themseves laughing. Embarassed

Somehow managing to put the carbs from my old RD250 on back to front and left for right....wondered for nearly two weeks why it was chucking out oodles of thick white smoke and wouldn't really go that well...hahaha.....OR jumping up and down in front of temporary traffic lights to get them to change (I was 17!!) ...then looking behind me to see two police men in a car having a larff at my morning "excercise".

Feckin' awesome!! Well impressed it ran...

1) Yesterday, riding the BMW that's relatively new to me, stopped 'thinking' about being on the BM and obviously reverted back on to the XJR - hit the horn on a busy roundabout in Harrogate instead of the indicator (tit)

2) I once got the arse waiting at traffic lights behind a woman driver who kept faffing with her radio, lights went green, she pulled forward about 20ft into the middle of the lights, stopped, faffed with her radio - at which point I gave it a large thumb on horn - then saw the ambulance approaching from the left Embarassed
