any legal advisers here?

phone is red hot today with insurance

been offered £7000 for the bike as its a write off

Wanted to buy it back but told it is a class "B" write off so not allowed to buy back

then spoke to NIG insurance engineer who stated i was within my rights to buy it back as long as bike is NEVER put back on road

Spoke to NIG assessor after that who said I cant buy it back and that it must be destroyed by salvage company

phoned West Coast Superbikes and found out the bike was lifted yesterday by local salvage dealer

officially its still my bike!!!!!

back on phone to NIG insurance raising hell

now: engineers involved, Assessors involved, assessors supervisors involved as well as claim handling supervisors

back on phone to NIG

Engineers state legally I can still buy back the bike

Assessors say NO

awaiting call back from a supervisor once they have a meeting and decide the way ahead

my phone is still red hot

late phone call saying bike is at salvage ready for me to pick up

I once was asked to take some photographs of a stolen recovered car in Dundee - wow! was I surprised at the trade in stolen recovered, accident damaged vehicles some of these recovery agents are involved in! Shocked

If i had'nt put up a big fight to keep my bike it would have been sold to salvage for £692, there is at least £4,000+ of good parts on bike including full undamaged engine with reasonable low miles.

Just a word of warning, dont accept what your insurance broker/underwriter has to say without checking things out fully yourself,
confirm things with DVLA and know what you are entitled too
