I've worn an Arai RX7 since the day i started biking and i cant fault them. It the comfiest helmet I've ever worn and I've tried quite a lot of them through the years. Most of the Arai range is good though so you dont have to spend a fortune buying their top of the line stuff.
As for tyre's i use Bridgestone 014's on the R1 and they seem to last/grip pretty well. I have a pair of Avon Vipers to go on next though sitting at work.

I fitted a couple of Continental RoadAttacks yesterday for a guy with a ZZR600 too. He said they are great on his bike.

I run a set of Conti's but prefer a Sport Attack on the front and a Road Attack on the back.
Works very well at all speeds (including on the track) and gives a reasonable milage (FJR 1300 ABS )

I use Bridgestone Trailwing tyres. Almost 8000 miles out of last set so I ain't complaining. I ride in all weathers and find them to have decent grip and handling and good ride quality.

My helmet is a Shoei XR1000 Diabolic 1. I love this helmet. Cool

Thought I would look this thread back out

Helmets

whats your views everyone

Ive a AGV XR2 which now has one dent and scratch's due to sliding down the road, I know "they" say change it, if its been dropped or had an accident but mine dont look too bad.

1982 I had an old £20 centurian helmet which was down the road a good few times, dented, scratched and still done the job it was there for when I had a serious accident.

So do i replace due to 1- off sliding down the road or keep the lid, im opting to keep it

interesting to here your views

The problem with these helmets, very much like climbing helmets, is that a dent breaks the integrity of the shell and destroys the ability of the interior of the inner lining (which I know you know already Roy) and the only way to be sure of its ability to maintain protection is to get it X-Rayed. Could be costly though.

Comes down to how much you value your bonce in the end I guess. The only way you'll know for sure is come off and see....and it's too late then for 'should have done's' or 'maybe's'. Cool

About 10 years ago when I first sat my CBT with Two Wheelers in Perth I dropped my brand new helmet on my first day on the concrete floor of the garage used for theory at the HGV testing station at Arran Rd in North Muirton! Sad

I was well choked!
