West Coast Superbikes in Irvine are what I have found to be excellent dealers, giving good sales and excellent aftersales servicing.

The workshop has windows where you can sit and watch the bike being serviced, and many spares in stock without having to order.

They are all good guys and commited to biking, side car racing and track days

One good dealer I recommend.

(and they do a pick up & return delivery for some, included in service)

do you mean CUPAR?

if so yep they have a pretty good set up, got a new corsa fitted there a couple of weeks back, good job done even though they never had the tool for MV spindle

ive never heard a bad word said regarding cupar bikes, they usually hold more tyres in stock than perth also.

Posted: Sun Oct 07, 2007 7:31 pm Post subject: Apology from Cupar mc's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got a written apology from Cupar motorcycles about my over inflated tyres. It reads:

First I would like to apologise for what has happened in reference to your tyre pressure settings. sorry for the delay in the response as I wanted to see all the people involved. the counter person you spoke to did not quite get the story correct as the fitter had at least attempted to set the pressures to the best information he had at the time. Not a spectacularly good excuse, but in the absence of a listing for the VN900 he assumed that your bike was probably just an engine update in the VN800 model, which is the pressure he used. We have in the meantime had a meeting with all the workshop personnel to emphasise that they should never set pressures without being absolutely certain that they have data for the correct model. We have also decided to have all our gauges calibrated periodically, and I and the workshop foreman have also agreed to have the fitters in future chalk mark tyres with the pressures set, so that customers can always query any setting before leaving, after all the advised pressures also vary between tyre manufactures and even between different tyre compunds. Nonetheless thank you for taking the time to inform me of this, as without the feed back we would not have been aware that we had a problem to deal with, and tyre pressures do of course have a serous safety implication

Please be assures that we take attention to detail very seriously and are grateful for you bringing this incedent to our attention.

seems to me that is a good respons from an outfit, to a genuine complaint, but not intended and ,maby not common.also like the idea of the way they took it on board, and the way they had a practical solution,(the chalk tyre thing)they prob see that sales isent everything,an that service is,or can be a big deal.
or maby they just knew you were host of a bike forum.nah Ill take that back. Ill definatley give theme a go in near future.
